Free Pattern Friday: Vampire Squid Wall Hanging

It's Free Pattern Friday time and this week we are giving away something special. The Vampire Squid will be our first wall hanging intarsia to be part of Free Pattern Friday. Vampire squids are really interesting creatures of the deep sea. Not many people know they exist but by making this pattern, you can share this awesome creature with others. Check out the instagram reel we made about this bizarre looking cephalopod.

Tools & Materials:

This pattern is intermediate in difficulty. Segment fitting is fairly easy but there is some advanced shaping details. Feel free to swap out the wood choices for wood that you have available to you.

• Scroll saw

• #5 MGT pegas scrollsaw blade (or blade of choice)

• 120 - 220 grit sandpaper

• Rotary tool with assortment of carving and sanding accessories

• Disc sander w/80 grit sandpaper

• Inflatable drum sander w/180 grit sandpaper

• Satin lacquer spray (or finish of choice

• Spray adhesive

• Blue painters tape

• Assortment of hardwood scraps
